I’ve recently had the privilege of being part of WP Includes as a mentor, and it’s been a genuinely rewarding experience. Supporting the next generation of women in WordPress has reminded me why I love this community so much.
What mentoring means to me
For me, mentoring isn’t just about sharing experience or telling someone what to do. It’s about listening, encouraging, and helping someone discover the answers for themselves. When a mentee finds their own solution or gains the confidence to take the next step in their career, that’s when the real magic happens.
The WordPress community has supported me for over a decade. From my early days attending WordCamps and Meetups to building an agency around it, I’ve benefited from the generosity and knowledge of countless people. Being part of WP Includes is my way of giving back and helping make our community more welcoming, diverse, and inclusive.
I was genuinely touched to receive a certificate recognising my involvement in the programme. Thank you to the founders Siobhan McKeown and Francesca Marano, Michelle Frechette and the entire WP Includes team for creating such a meaningful initiative.

Get involved
If you’re thinking about getting involved, whether as a mentor or mentee, applications for the next group of mentees are now open. It’s an opportunity to connect with inspiring women in the WordPress community, share knowledge, and help shape the future of our industry.
The WordPress community thrives because people are willing to support each other. If you’ve benefited from this community, consider how you might give back. WP Includes is just one of many ways to make a difference.
