The Little Bike Company increases online sales by 90% in 12 months after moving their e-shop to a WooCommerce WordPress platform.
The challenge
Based in Berkhamsted, The Little Bike Company specialises in selling good quality, lightweight bikes, cycle clothing and accessories for children. The company launched in 2012 with a website designed using a Magento platform which wasn’t responsive enough to mobile devices. With over 50% of visitors viewing the website on their phone, the site was not helping the business grow.
The solution
The company wanted a new, fully responsive website based on its brand but easier for customers to find the business, browse products and buy online.
A priority issue was optimising the site for the company’s growing number of potential customers by improving the way it worked on mobile. This became even more important as the project started, when Google changed its algorithm to penalise sites that were unresponsive to mobile devices. We needed to maintain the site’s discoverability on search engines like Google.
With this in mind, we recommended moving to a WooCommerce WordPress platform offering a fully responsive website and a system which could integrate the two main sales channels – online and retail.
The overall look and feel of the site was designed around the company’s logo and brand colour palette. It is fresh, clean and, importantly, accessible for all users. We created a new layout based around the customer journey, removing any potential barriers to a sale. Individual pages were kept attractive and uncluttered.

The results
In the first 12 months:
